Happy Hour: Seven Days in Heaven

Nothing says summer in the Valley like triple digits, “beat the heat” specials and staycations. With the Valley’s vast array of top notch resorts and spas, and the Spa Girls Summer Spa Series, a girl could easily get swept away with pampering and lounging by the pool.

But Hotel Palomar Phoenix’s summer package has me daydreaming of a much more active, and longer, staycation this summer! For just $10 more than the best available rate, CityScape’s most recent addition is offering deluxe accommodations with a nightly $25 dinning (and drinking) credit.

Here’s my plan of attack for a weeklong (a girl can dream) staycation at Hotel Palomar.

Monday

Since I’ve somehow managed to sneak away from the office, I’ll be sleeping in before heading to CityScape for check-in, some quality midday nosh and a little people watching. With 15 FnB options, including Palomar’s own Blue Hound Kitchen and Cocktails, CityScape seems like heaven to this self-proclaimed fat kid.

Tuesday

It’s Taco Tuesday ya’ll (please see aforementioned fat kid comment ) and bet your bottom dollar I’m headed to Fuego CityScape for the house special tacos. Now until June 30 mention the Fuego CityScape Special Offer and receive a complimentary drink for everyone in your party. I’m sure I can convince a friend or two to join me.

Wednesday

I’ll counteract all the eating and lounging with a fun and challenging poolside yoga session at the hotel. In conjunction with Lululemon Athletica, CityScape is offering complimentary yoga on the deck of the Hotel Palomar pool from 7 – 8 p.m. every Wednesday through July 25. Hot yoga with a view? I’m in.

Thursday

Maybe it’s time for a little turkey, of the bowling variety. I’ll take my mad skills (no seriously) over to Lucky Strike for a complimentary round of bowling. That’s right. Buy lunch for $9.95 and get a FREE game of bowling Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Friday

Better take advantage of that daily dining credit.  Cocktails at Lustre it is. I have to say hello to Bartender Ben, before heading to Stand Up Live for a good end of week laugh.  Did I mention that Stand Up Live’s neighbor, Copper Blues Rock Pub And Kitchen has live music and over 60 beers on tap…

Saturday

It’s my final day, for this stay, at Hotel Palomar Phoenix.  I think I’ll soak it all in. Pool time, wine hour (complimentary for guests from 5-6 p.m.), dinner at Blue Hound and a good night’s rest in a bed I don’t have to make in the morning.

Sunday

I’ll curb the sadness of ending my stay with one of my favorite things in the world, day games at Chase Field. Dodgers and Astros and Mets, oh my! And then there’s the Nationals. Once the laughing stock of MLB, the Washington Nationals are now making headlines for their young talent including pitching sensation Stephen Strasburg and rookie standout Bryce Harper (the kid stole home just eight days after making his major league debut).

Now I need to pick dates for my stay!
